Lonavala And Khandala

The twin hill stations of Lonavala and Khandala are popular weekend holiday getaways for those who come to Mumbai. Lonavla is about 96 km from Mumbai and about a 10-minute drive away from  Khandala. Alandi

Devachi Alandi, meaning god’s place, is situated 25 km from Pune, and was built in the 13th century. There is a samadhi and a temple dedicated to the saint-poet Dnyaneshwar here. The saint-poet wrote the Dnyaneshwari, the Marathi translation of the Bhagavad Gita. There are several other temples in Alandi including the Vitthal-Rakhumai temple, Ram temple, Krishna temple and Muktai temple.
